There are certain specific foods and diets that help with Cleansing and Detoxifying your body. For some a Natural Foods Cleansing Diet is the way to go as it is easy to do, affordable and does not alter your normal routine. A more intensive cleanse, such as the Master Cleanse, can have many benefits, but for most of us that can be difficult to do on a regular basis. A Natural Food Cleanse, based on utilizing certain foods, can be just as effective if done properly. It does take some planning and the cleanse lasts longer, but the benefits are outstanding.
Some of the most important factors in any Natural Foods Cleanse are –
1) The Key Foods – Focusing on eating the Key cleansing foods exclusively. You don’t have to starve…you can eat well, just eat the right foods. Organic vegetables & most fruits are probably the healthiest cleansing foods that you can eat! This should be the foundation of your cleansing diet…then you can add a few extras from there. Focus on food, including protein, that is light and easy to digest.
2) There are certain foods that you should Avoid when cleansing. The avoidance foods are very important as they are the “bad” foods that poison your system. For example: processed or chemical foods of any kind are simply forbidden…refined sugar products also. Most Dairy is also not a good idea; Wheat & most bread products, in particular refined products, are also not recommended. Caffeine, soft drinks, alcohol & red meat should also be avoided or limited during a cleanse.
3) Drink lots of Water – Water is the cleansing & detox key…you need to flush your system regularly. Filtered, pure water only. Herbal Tea & Juice can also be useful in helping with water intake and your cleanse.
4) Organic and Natural – Another essential factor. You are detoxifying your system. You need pure foods with no chemicals. Organic and natural foods are full of vitamins and nutrients! Use them exclusively.
Body Detoxification is about giving your body the right vitamins and minerals so that your cells have enough energy and the right nutrients for your natural detox system to work properly.
EDUCATE YOURSELF – There is a lot of good info out there on the web about Food Cleansing. Do some research on what foods help with Cleansing and what foods don’t.
A good food cleansing diet usually lasts 14-30 days, but it can go longer. Adjusting to some type of Cleansing diet on a regular basis can also be very good for you. You can start feeling the benefits of a Food Cleanse in usually about a week. You will have to decide what works for you and how long you want to continue. A food or diet journal can help with this. If you feel cleansed and have increased energy you can start slowly reintroducing other foods back into your diet. Go slow and Monitor these foods…see if any make you feel bad or cause decreased energy. You can also continue with the food cleansing diet, just make sure and eat regular nutritious meals and monitor your overall health.
I have also had great success with utilizing an Herbal Cleanse with a Food Cleansing Diet. You can get an Herbal Cleansing kit online or at the natural foods store or find specific cleansing herbs that will aid in your detox. The herbal cleanse helps aid your body in the process, but remember the food cleanse is still a key to a proper detox.
